The history of the library of the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute is inseparable from the history of the Polytechnic Institute itself. The name of the Polytechnic Institute changed several times. And this was reflected in the book marks of the scientific library. You can see how book marks looked in different periods of the library's work: round, oval, square, rectangular, carved, in the form of a scroll, etc.
The belonging of the book to the fundamental library, faculty libraries, or the library of laboratories or workshops, structural subdivisions of the library (reading rooms, scientific, educational and socio-economic departments), as well as to the libraries of circles - all this can be found on seals, stamps, bookplates.
