Stamps and seals of bookstores

At the beginning of the 20th century there were 48 bookstores, 20 libraries and several free reading rooms operating in Kyiv. The Kyiv Polytechnic Institute purchased literature for the training of future engineers both from publishing houses and from bookstores in the city. The names of some booksellers with whom the institution maintained business relations are mentioned on the pages of the Institute's annual reports. The most successful had proprietary signs.
